Twinkle Twinkle fucking why

Can’t I draw the other eye

What the fuck’s up with your nose

Fuck those folds in all your clothes

Twinkle Twinkle fucking shit

Fuck this art, I’m done I quit.

Little artist, please don’t cry,
I’ll help you draw that fucking eye.

If your features seem rather whack,
Flip the canvas and drive them back.

If traditional is more your trend,
Then notice sempai Wilhelm Bendz!

If all this seems a total waste,
Then fucking cheat with cut and paste.

mlpartconfessions:

I can’t begin to count the amount of times I’ve seen popular pony artists with terrible attitudes, or who treat their fans like garbage.  I’ve seen them ridicule their followers for not knowing something, or for making a simple request (like tagging certain things), and mocking them for petty little things, then turning around and claiming that they don’t do anything like that.

I saw a popular artist recently admit that they don’t even like half the fan art they get, which is not only ungrateful, but it’s rude as hell.  I’ve seen artists vehemently deny something happening in their lives, then turn around and admit to it happening, only to mock those who question it or who ask to be brought up to speed.  I’ve seen an artist ridicule people who made a simple tagging request (for legitimate reasons), and tell them to stop trying to be such a special snowflake and a baby.

Here’s the thing.

It doesn’t matter how talented you are as an artist, you would be nowhere without your followers, your fans.  These are the people who reblog your work, who share it, who tell their friends, recommend you, buy your commissions and post them to their own blogs to share your work, who support you by buying your work, pledging your Patreon accounts and showing you support when you need it.  They are the people who send you words of support, even if you have no clue who they are, who help if you need it, send words of encouragement when you’re down and who spend their time enjoying your work.

I get that if you’re a popular, more well known artist, after a while, some things get tiring, and you have to put up with a lot of crap, and that you’re going to get tired of the constant criticism, of having hundreds, if not thousands, of strangers practically breathing down your neck.  Trust me, I know.

But does it really kill you to be civil to people?  Do you really need to mock them, and drag them through the mud and display your problems with them all over your blog for your legions of followers to see just because they disagree with you?  Is it really so hard to just either ignore them, or politely catch them up on something if they ask, rather than sneering and ask where they’ve been or if they haven’t been paying attention?

This confession is not directed at any one artist in particular.  Because I’ve seen it happen time, and time again with a lot of artists, and it’s really disappointing.

It doesn’t matter how good, or beautiful or amazing your work is, if you are a hateful, nasty person, then when I see your work, it becomes just as ugly as your attitude.  And that’s a damn shame.

how about we just say that out of every handful of people, no matter what group they’re a part of, there are going to be assholes

There are plenty of over-entitled non-popular assholes out there

Like the people who expect well known people to serve them hand and foot and treat them like customers at a grocery store. Because that happens too.

Maybe there are fans who are also complete total dickheads who stress these artists out day in, day out?

Maybe artists are also human beings who happen to make mistakes and get in bad moods sometimes?

Maybe thy don’t HAVE to be obligated to like every little thing a fan gives them just because that person is a fan?

If I had to act like I loved every single fan art I got, that would include stuff that’s been traced or just thrown in to dollmaker or even stuff that people claim is fan art but was really just art they took off of google. Some artists might be uncomfortable with fan art because some people draw it in order to get attention, because yes, some people are in fact THAT disrespectful.

And also, the people in the pony fandom who are ‘popular’ aren’t actually all that popular in comparison to non-pony ‘popular’ artists out there. You’re shoving them on a pedestal and expecting them all to be the same copypaste ‘nice person’ and that just isn’t how people work. You’ll get some nice artists and some not so nice artists. You’ll get nice followers and not nice followers.

It’s not okay for ANYONE to ridicule or treat people like shit.

Don’t just narrow in and say it only applies to popular artists, because they get treated like shit too and sometimes the only way they can express that is by making belittling comments towards people who have ultimately made them uncomfortable.

I never denied being an asshole, but it’s because I don’t let people step on me. Otherwise, I’m incredibly kind and respectful to those who do the same for me.

And I appreciate when people can understand that I have mental conditions and a lot of stress that factor in to my occasional outburst.

So thank you, to the people who see me as a human being who sometimes makes mistakes.

To all the people who want me to act like customer service at a grocery store: Fuck off.

30 cards is a lot! Woah. I managed 20 someodd for bronycon… but im crazy aahah

Yeah, fortunately I’m not alone in the project.
The set covers the blogs in the group I have Australia pony in. I’m trying to have a bit of balance, with ship and goal cards in the set too.
I hope to have it ready for bronycon next year. (I’m planning to go to both bronycon and trotcon, and plan to try sell the cards at them)

(Dammit, I meant to respond privately. Oh well. No secrets in here anyway)

I’ve wanted to do another project for a while now, and people seem to have sufficient interest in this. Not to mention, TSSSF Creators are fully supportive of it!

Want to participate? Here’s the low-down.

ARTIST Cost: $25 USA, $30 out-of-country. I cannot front costs for this, unfortunately. The cost gets you your own set, shipped to you. They do not cost this much of course to produce. Any surplus monies after calculating participants, will be afforded to additional sets to sell. All profits from additional sets will be divvied out between participants. I don’t plan on having this be huge money-maker, of course, but it is something ‘for fun’ and hopefully something to make costs back on. The price on resale sets will be determined at a later date. If you are participating and are interested in additional sets for yourself, please let me know so I can figure out the cost as it will take out from your individual ‘profit’ in compensation. (One set will automatically go to Pixel Prism and her team for creating such a wonderful game.)

Card/Art Requirements: Width 5in x Height 3.5in, 300dpi – save as PNG for best result. Art must be ORIGINAL and preferably original to the project and feature your OC or your parody blog character (alternate version of canon characters, etc). It can be saucy, but not explicit. The Text may also be saucy (as is the game) and suggestive, but not explicit. I will be setting up a form at a later time for information such as card text, etc. I can put the cards together as well though TSSSF’s card creator service. I will also be designing a set icon, so I just need the art and text that I will provide a form for. Try to keep the rules on the card default to the card game or as true as possible. If you are going to make a ‘special’ attribute, please use existent cards as examples to prevent breaking the game. Also note there is a limit to text input on the card, so please be reasonable in your ‘fiction’ or description areas.

**If you want to participate but aren’t an artist, I will include in the list below if others are available for commissioning for art, and their price. If you are participating and would be open to commissions for this project, please let me know.**

Collaborated cards: Got some friends to do some cards with? Perhaps two blogs you ship and want to make use of Goals and Ship cards? Go for it!

*Note: it is up to you to decide who the additional set goes to, and who is paying, if done in odd number of collaborated cards between you and a friend.

Time-Frame: I’d love to have these done and out by the holidays!

September 30 loose deadline.

Slots: We will start at 36. If we blow through that, 54, then 72 and so on. You may claim multiple slots.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE ASKBOX ME FOR PRELIMINARY SIGN-UPS.

I don’t understand. Are you commissioning cards, making all the cards yourself, what? You’ve only put in an artist cost and card requirements, not what the project actually is. Please clarify.

Making tsssf cards. I will order the physical product. Those making cards have to pay. I cannot front costs. Basically i am ordering for everyone that participates (thus making an effective tumblrpon expansion) and handling it and reselling for everyone so they dont have to.

So let’s say for the sake of argument, there is:

–A person who is not an artist that wants this expansion.

–A person who is not an artist that wants to work on this expansion.

–A person who is an artist that wants to work on this expansion.

–A person who is an artist that wants this expansion and is willing to work on it.

How would each of them approach this project?

Also, by available slots I assume you mean individual cards. Do you have a minimum Pony/Ship/Goal number of cards you’re working towards, or a set ratio?

1) tumblrpon expansion will be available for pirchase at later date. After completion to avoid any issues.

2) commission art of your oc for the project. Many participants will be offering services. This makes the art unique to the set.

3) great. Let me know. Ill add name to the list then send info to you once we have enough participants to move forward.

4) by participating you get a copy. If you want more? It is something we will work out later. Such will be explained better once project is completed towards participants that want extra sets.

There is no limitation on ratio. However i do hope participants will be creative in creating more than just pony cards.

I kind of want to jump in on this. However my only real ask blog is ask-australia-pony, and I’m making a country pony set already (which is planned at 30 cards so far)
Beyond that my characters are mostly RP (sure expensive taste has his own blog expensive-taste-pony but I don’t think that can really count)
