This is downright Malware.
For those that don’t want to read the link and need a TD:LR:
The game has DRM more a virus that not only takes evasive control of your PC to prevent even GOOGLING searched related to hacking the game while it’s installed but connects to a server that blacklists any “hackers”.
That means the the only way to disable the anti-cheat/piracy protection if it triggers is to contact one of the devs to be removed from the blacklist because any attempt at a clean install will check with the sever and trip the protection.
This is some protection-racket level shit and it’s honestly kind of scary even to someone like me that has seen some shit over the years when it comes to malicious programs and DRM.
I just hope this sumbitch gets a visit from both SEGA and the FBI.
He’s basically committing a federal offense by illegally tracking PCs without the users consent and publishing software that could legally be classified as a virus so he might see the boys in black suits yet.
The admins of the fansite he originally made the project for a Gamejam type deal on have blacklisted him and are investigating just how deep the rabbit-hole goes on the included malware.
I guess he also had a meltdown when called him out for spreading a literal virus disguised as a game and completely broke the blacklist so it won’t let ANYONE play it now.
