That’s pretty much the biggest concern I hear from friends of mine who do commissions.
It’s a problematic situation these days I think as so many people seem to be having money issues.
(Personally I have no such problem, and as such I generally tip an artist for my commissions)

I have a lot of thoughts regarding this I could add, but the mobile app isn’t good for long posts.
Suffice to say: copyright law doesn’t care if creators like something their fans make. If it’s too close to their work and they don’t stop it, they’ll lose copyright.
It’s not a case of “bad guy hasbro” but more copyright laws are poorly designed to deal with modern situations like this.
