So, one of our newer players is super-paranoid about things being mimics. Touch something without checking it first? “Is it a mimic?” Apparently having no choice about whether or not to deal with a bridge or door? “Is it a mimic?” The DM pauses for more than two seconds after someone asks about something? “Is it a mimic?”
Anyway, he wasn’t there during our last session, and I’m planning a homebrew game that’ll start up in a couple weeks. The current DM had to take a minute to set up the map, so we were just talking.
Me: …So… out of curiosity, how mad would people be if I threw in a dungeon that was literally nothing but mimics, just to screw with [new player]?
Cleric: Wait, what?!
Gunslinger: Oh my god…
Current DM: *stops drawing and looks up to stare at me*
Me: Because I’m really fricking tempted, and I don’t want to upset anyone…
Sorcerer: So, like, the treasure chest is a mimic, and the furniture is a mimic, and…?
Me: The the bridges are mimics, the doors are mimics, the decorations are mimics, that magic sword you just found? Mimic. Pile of gold? Mimic. The key to the doors? The answer is yes. The answer is literally always yes!
Gunslinger: The entire dungeon complex? It’s a mimic!
Me: You have reached the boss chamber! The boss is its tongue!

Here’s the skinny! June was the last time I was able to do a commission raffle, since then I’ve had three conventions, several projects and lots of other stuff keeping me from giving away free art! Well, let’s fix that! 😀
The five winners will each receive a flat colored commission of their (or a friend’s character (pony or anthro)) in a Halloween costume, with a simple background! See the example above to see what it’ll look like, thereabouts!

Sorry for such a long post, but to make it a little longer, I’d like to thank all of you for 3000 follows here on my blog (and 500 on picarto!). All of the messages of encouragement I get are very touching, I’m lucky to have so many supportive friends and commissioners that allow me to do this.
So the party was sent out to go slay some dragons for a 1500 gold bounty per dragon killed. But upon getting to the lair, they instead decide to try talking to the dragon (who is already pissed off because people keep showing up, trying to kill her). They’ve been going back and forth for a minute, so far only minorly successful in convincing her they’re not out for the bounty.
Half-Orc Bard: Okay, can I roll Persuasion to- *drops dice on floor* Oh, fuck me…
DM (in growling dragon voice): That would be weird…
DM: The only way you’re playing a bard in this campaign is if you speak entirely in limericks.
Me, a poet: The dust, you’ll wish you bit When my character was green-lit. This won’t be that hard, Playing yon bard, Challenge accepted, you sack of shit.
I really wish steam wouldn’t go “I’M GOING TO DOWNLOAD EVERYTHING!” whenever I’m on my laptop..
It ate up 15gb, and caused me to exceed my data limit..
