The chefs have to cook macaroni and cheese in a tiny cramped kitchen with zero utensils and only dull bread knives. Both the macaroni and milk are left out of their baskets. They have a single tiny pot to cook everything in or they have to wash 2 minutes of dishes to receive a different sized pot, but the first 4 are either comically too large or small.
okay, while not cutthroat kitchen. I’ll point out, that Top Chef has literally done almost exactly this.
It was Top Chef Masters, Season 1, episode 1. The results are as hilarious as you can imagine. They had to cook a full three course meal, in the dorm rooms, using only a microwave, toaster oven and hot plate.
