Discord servers are great but all it takes is one ‘That Guy’ to ruin it.
By ‘that guy’, I’m talking about the kind of people who aren’t necessarily breaking any rules but are still unpleasant to be around because they make every conversation about them or spam the chat with some “hilarious” meme only they find funny while people are trying to have a conversation. And you can tell the admin wants to ban their ass but doesn’t want to go through the inevitable tantrum and/or tumblr drama for it.
took us about 4 unnecessary arguments and 2 people leaving to ban our That Guy
i don’t really care about fortnite but shout out to epic for actually giving back when they make a bunch instead of just sitting on the piles of money like a fuckin dragon hoard
cats are so fake like they’re theoretically related to apex predators and yet they weigh 8 pounds, sleep 20 hours a day, and scream if you feed them half an hour later than usual

apex predators are over-hyped, we’re all just tired and whiny.
When a character doesn’t realize they’ve been, like, shot or whatever and they hand brushes against their side and comes away wet with blood, and they’re just staring at it like wtf is this and then their knees just totally give out on them and they sink down, maybe gasping a little as the reality finally hits them. That’s good stuff.
I see that, and raise you a character who knows they’ve been shot, but waits until the rest of their crew is out of sight to put their hand against the slowly spreading stain of blood on their shirt, then trying to steady their breathing so they can follow without letting on how injured they are.
Okay but like the character who doesn’t realize they’ve been hurt trying to see if everyone else is okay only to slowly realize that everyone is looking at them with mounting horror. Then they touch their side to find it’s wet and oh no

This is the visible spectrum of the light from the sun. And if you have played with white light and prisms before, it might come as a huge surprise to you to know that the spectrum from the sun is actually not continuous.
Why is it not ? The dark patches in the above spectrum arise from gas at or above the
Sun’s surface absorbing sunlight emitted below.
Since there are different types of gases that compose the sun, there are numerous wavelengths of light that get absorbed by these gases.
How do we know which line corresponds to which ? Well, it’s because we have a periodic table, and we know the spectrum of all the elements in it:
And then it’s a matter of solving the jigsaw puzzle of fitting the spectrum with the tiles that you have. When we do so, we obtain the following composition of elements:
We can even take it one step further by finding the composition of other neighboring stars as well.
All of this information about the star can be captured from a simple spectrum. And this is why one of the most important that an astronomer has is it’s spectrum.
