Weigh day was hard on Mouse, the albino Everglades rat snake. She was TERRIFIED of the tape measure and kept bolting every time she saw it. But we gotta take measurements and being afraid of a non-scary thing isn’t a valid excuse not to document growth, so I tried to convince her it wasn’t a devil monster coming to eat her tiny self. Eventually she just covered her eyes with her tail and faced away from it, so this is the photo I had to use on the SerpWidgets snake measuring tool.
Afterwards I spent a little time consoling her, and then she got to go home and have dinner.
Context: cardinal George Pell is claiming illness to avoid returning to Australia to face the Royal commission into child sexual abuse, and to answer questions about his role in the Catholic Church’s deliberate covering up of allegations (of which he had a large part in)
Snow donuts are a phenomena which occur when the wind blows snow over a snowy layer of ground and other snow and material is collected along the way until large rings or ‘rolls’ are formed
It’s lovely to know we live in a world with snow donuts.
I’m currently dealing with a lot IRL, and need to make some money to cover things like hydro and vet bills, so – pony adopts!
