“I wish my art was good enough to be stolen”

jitterbugjive:

I see this comment pretty much any time a well known artist points out art thieves.

Let me put it in perspective to show why it’s a rude thing to say in response to the situation:

Say someone has a nice house and someone broke in and stole things from them

It’d be like responding to their distress by saying “Wow I wish I was rich enough for people to steal from me.”

No.

You really don’t. And as ‘flattering’ as you think it might be, as much as you think you can ‘shrug’ it off and say ‘oh it just means I’m popular’, it’s still someone stealing something from you that you worked for and it still sucks. Especially when they start trying to sell it.

West African Gaboon viper – (Bitis gabonica rhinoceros)

What a dork

I still don’t understand what is going on here

This viper is being given a drink of water by its keeper.

I dont think that’s the correct way to water your viper…

Gaboon vipers are actually well known for initially not being able to recognize standing water. They need movement to recognize water sources, at least at first- especially with newly imported WC specimen that may be severely dehydrated. This method is a good way to ensure the snake is drinking without putting yourself in dangerous proximity to it.

AHHH This is way to cute! Tiny danger noodle is so adorable. I love gaboon vipers so much!

tailsandkabuki you need this cuteness on your dash right now!

BABY

Looks tiny now but will be a big fat danger sausage with adorable pudgy cheeks

Judging from the background and the method of watering, I’m quite confident in saying this is a clip from Viperkeeper, who is well known for specialising in venomous snakes. I think he knows what he is doing when he waters them! (Watch his videos – his green mambas are so cute!)

Edit: his videos are very interesting as he wears a POV cam, so you see what he sees and all the different species he works with 😀 I love VK!

hearing the word ‘salty’ in it’s original context is so weird now bc someone could literally just say ‘these pringles are so salty’ and I’ll just be thinking damn who’ve those pringles been vagueing about now
