Jitters, I need help! I can’t gather anything for my ask comics! I see a load of blogs get at least a dozen messages for their posts, and then there’s me, resorting to begging and pleading for messages and stillnot getting enough for a regular schedule. I even tried advertising myself throughout Tumblr, but it doesn’t work. I’m scared I might never have enough to get through any of my arcs even though I want to tell it, and will have no choice but to abandon them. What do I do?

jitterbugjive:

-Tag your posts with tags people will search for, like ‘my little pony’, ‘mlp’, ‘pony’

-Don’t rely on asks for your story. You should be telling your askers the story and prompting them to be interested and ask questions. If you’re giving vague answers or not giving anything for them to question, they wont send asks. If you MUST rely on asks and aren’t getting the right ones, send anon asks to yourself. Cheat a bit if you have to. People aren’t going to read your mind and automatically know what asks you need to progress.

-Network, interact with other blogs that might be starting out, look to interact with them. Be generally active in seeking out other people who have blogs. Send out asks, make fan art, give someone a cameo.

-Keep practicing, sometimes it takes time to find something that will appeal to people visually and content wise. The better quality you get, the more people will notice.

-Keep your blog CLEAN. If it’s an ask blog that’s story based, don’t mix it up with reblogs and unrelated things. This will lose people fast.
