fucking livid.
screwed over by work, again.
I work my ass off for year to get a head chef role, and the fucker we had on site quits, then what do they do?

GIVE IT FUCKING BACK TO HIM A WEEK LATER. ON A ROSTER THAT HE WANTS.

This is such BULLSHIT

Man, I’d be temped to sue for some kind of wrongful termination on those grounds.

Once he quit and you got promoted that should’ve been it and he lost all his claim on the job.

I didn’t officially get promoted. I was just next in line.
He resigned while I was out of the country, I had no chance to actually take up the role officially

Also, that kind of case really isn’t a thing in Australia.

Doesn’t matter. I’ll be pressing my case hard when I get back. or I’ll be getting a new resume made up, and I’ll leave.
I’m sure the competitors would appreciate someone with my experience.

That sucks.

Here in the US a lot of states are “right to work” where an employeR can’t fire you without a valid reason unless they want to put out employment benefits and such.

ummm, I think you’re misinterpreting the situation a bit.

I haven’t been fired. I never got the role I was after to start with.
I still have a job, it’s just not the position I was chasing.

You can’t fire anyone in Australia without a valid reason, and without following certain procedures.

Still though.

Something unethical is going on there when they gave him his job back despite there being a clear chain inheritance thing going on the position.

Oh, I know.
But I’m not home until monday, so there wasn’t really much that could have been done while I was away.

I’m hoping he’s only there for a short time, because I can’t deal with him for long at all. he drives me insane.
